Bird Rescue Adventure

Springtime is the season that birds may need our help. Be sure to look down not up! I spent a few years volunteering at a bird sanctuary, and I've grown to love these little guys. I found this pigeon in the bike lane in central park. He wasn't moving much and he couldn't open his wings. I scooped him up, wrapped him in my t-shirt and headed to the nearest bird sanctuary, Wild Bird Fund. It was a bit of an adventure since we were so far from the sanctuary. It's a strange time to get a taxi, so we walked 10 blocks until we found one. The bird sanctuary took him in and will take good care of him until he is ready to fly, and able to go home. It's not always convenient to rescue birds, but it's the kind thing to do. Birds need love too.
